Mood is a feature that affects the lighting of environments in the Trackmania series, bringing greater diversity to gameplay. Moods were first introduced in Trackmania Sunrise. When changing the mood, the ambient light is changed, making the track look different. In some moods the only illumination comes from the lights of the cars and the track. Mood does not affect vehicle performace or gameplay physics, but can affect the difficulty by making it harder for the player to see the track.
List of moods[]
Day mood simulates a sunny day. The sun high in the sky, everything is brightly lit and colors are sharp. Headlights and lamps are turned off.
Sunrise mood simulates early morning conditions. The sun is low on the horizon, everything is dimly lit and colors are muted. Headlights and lamps are off.
Sunset mood is similar to Sunrise but slightly darker. Headlights and lamps are turned on.
Night mood simulates a dark night. There is no sun and little illumination other than lamps and headlights, leaving most of the track and scenery hidden by darkness.
